ABOUT SEE INTERNATIONAL
Since 1974, SEE International has worked to create a world where everyone has access to vision care, regardless of who they are, where they live, or their ability to pay. Entire communities are affected by preventable blindness, due to little more than circumstance. Through the support of SEE’s partners and the dedication of its volunteer medical professionals, well over 3.6 million people have had their eyes screened, and nearly half a million people have had their sight restored.
Locally, SEE is the only nonprofit in Santa Barbara County that provides free comprehensive eyecare to uninsured individuals who otherwise may not have access to vision care. The program serves approximately 1,400 community members each year.
To make this extraordinary work both far-reaching and sustainable, SEE relies on the generosity of its donors.
SEE has created a network of in-kind medical suppliers, who donate most of the items that are used forthe sight-restoring clinics. The remainder of the cost— about $100 per surgery—is covered by generous individuals and foundations around the world.
Your $200 purchase of one piece of original art, specially created for this event, and AAC’s 100% proceeds donation, will transform the lives of two individuals and their families by providing funds for sight-restoring cataract surgery performed by SEE’s volunteer medical professionals.
Santa Barbara Visual Artists (SBVA) invites you to our Thursday March 10 5:30 - 7:30 PM reception at the Cabrillo Pavillion Art Gallery to celebrate original works in diverse media. Come join us for appetizers and a glass of wine to view our personal art with our friends...one of the most beautiful Santa Barbara art gallery venues with an ocean view of the sun setting.
Music will be featured by Ray Olmstead.
Our SBVA receptions are open to the public, there is no charge - we welcome a donation of $5 at the door.
Please RSVP Jan Baker - email@example.com, so that we have an estimated number for our appetizers & wine.
